Make Sparks Fly ✨

It's been a while since I have written. This may feel like the start of a gloom and doom story, but intertwines perfectly with my love for travel and future traveling goals and ambitions.  Seeing as today is my Birthday, it seems like an opportune time to share.  I am 47 years old today.  While this number may seem insignificant to many, for me the late 40's have felt like a slow creep to the end of the first part of my life.

You see, my mother had me 'late' in life and passed away suddenly, less than ten years later. She was only 48 years old, having had her 48th Birthday just a little shy of 3 months before her sudden departure from this earth and my young life.

When I recall positive memories of my mother, they always involved travel, whether it was long road trips from Austria to Germany or taking winter flights from snowy Vienna to the sunny Bahamas.  Travel, from an early age, was my love language.  If I wasn't traveling, I was daydreaming about it.

So here is what I have decided for myself.  Every year of her life that my mother missed out on, and that I am fortunate and blessed to be gifted with, I plan to live differently!

Life is simply too fleeting to keep waiting for life's greatest moments to happen TO us.  We have the power to make things happen.  Every small step brings us closer to our goal in life.  And my goal is to travel more and to let the travel bug keep biting me.  Not only do I want to actively continue to experience life through the eyes of travel, but I want to share it with all of you!

When I am not traveling, I am planning!  Planning may be for the distant or near future, but I always have some sort of sneaky plan waiting in the wings. My next adventure is always just around the corner, preparing for take off!

Not only is it my Birthday today, but I can finally say that our upcoming summer adventure starts 3 months from today.  I plan to share it all with you and you won't want to miss it!
